Nine riders set out for the Lambing Shed. We rode out past Rudyard lake and Rushton Spencer before turning off for Bosley and riding past the Cloud. We dropped in to Astbury and rode through Sandbach before riding along the A50 to Knutsford and the Lambing Shed. Apologies for any mistakes in describing the route but we all a little confused over the route to take. It is a hard job being Ride Leader.
It was decided by Rich C that we should ride back in to Knutsford and take the time to ride through Tatton Park to see the Deer. Tatton Park was the home of the Ergeton family and the forth lord Ergeton owned a 1900 Benz, number plate M1, the first car in Cheshire in case you were interested. The house and park is well worth a visit. We had a enjoyable detour before heading by Alderley Edge and the climb to the Wizard. We headed to Broken Cross and Gawsworth and past Bosley. The pace picked up as we passed Bosley lights and I was dropped by the sprinters and had to work hard to catch up all the way from Rushton Spencer to Rudyard Lake before being able to re-join the group. Much to their disgust, I passed them on the final hill but Nick D passed me by Bridge End to claim the sprint, well done Nick. We arrived back in Leek at 2.32PM after a hard, 72 mile ride. Thanks to Rich C for leading the ride and for the wildlife tour!.
