{"id":1584,"date":"2016-12-30T08:47:28","date_gmt":"2016-12-30T08:47:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.leekcyclistsclub.org.uk\/?p=1584"},"modified":"2023-11-25T20:24:24","modified_gmt":"2023-11-25T20:24:24","slug":"recent-club-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.leekcyclistsclub.org.uk\/?p=1584","title":{"rendered":"Recent Club Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Remembrance Sunday four Club Members represented the Club, in laying a wreath at the Nicholson War Memorial in Leek during the Remembrance Day Service and paying our respects to the people who have died in Two World Wars and in combat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leekcyclistsclub.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/use66.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-1590\" src=\"http:\/\/www.leekcyclistsclub.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/use66.jpg\" alt=\"use66\" width=\"309\" height=\"409\" \/><\/a>A group of 20 Club Members enjoyed a night watching the pro&#8217;s at the Manchester Veledrome on the 25th of November. The event was part of Revolution Series and was called the Champions League which saw a number of world class riders racing Including British Olympic Team Pursuit Champions <span class=\"st\">Elinor Barker and Ed Clancy<\/span>. Thanks to Jamie Jeffery and Jordan Hill for organising the evening.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.leekcyclistsclub.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/use9.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-1587\" src=\"http:\/\/www.leekcyclistsclub.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/use9.jpg\" alt=\"use9\" width=\"367\" height=\"456\" \/><\/a>A group of 26 Club Members enjoyed the annual Leek CC Christmas Social on the 5th of December. Starting off in Den Engel, they then tucked into a meal at the Leek Bar &amp; Grill. Followed by more drinks at the Earl Grey afterwords. They joined us so that Leek Cyclist Club will feature in a upcoming edition of Cycling Weekly in their &#8216;Ride With&#8217; feature. Make sure to keep a look out in future editions of Cycling Weekly so you can buy a copy.
